Etienne GINDENSPERGER - Research Interests
Main areas of research:
Theoretical description/modeling of the photophysical and photochemical properties of molecular systems.
In particular, focus on the description of the nuclear dynamics (quantum and semi-classical) during the ultrafast electronic relaxation processes in the excited states, mediated by vibronic and/or spin-orbit coupling.
Development of methodological and computational techniques to study large systems with many vibrational modes in the presence of conical intersections.
Full quantum (electron & nulcei) description of transition metal complexes exhibiting a large density of electronic states of various spin multiplicity: competition between radiationless transitions and luminescence, ultrafast dynamics, spin-vibronic effects.
Member of the Quantum Dynamics Network. I am using the Heidelberg MCTDH package for quantum dynamics simulations.
